Hi, all!
Well, it's been a few weeks since I did a Make-A-List Monday post - but don't think I've been slacking off! OK, well, I did slack off a little bit during vacation, but I had fun sewing on things I *wanted* to work on rather on things I *needed* to work on. First up was this Plaidish quilt...
Hi, all!
Monday, Monday... the start of a new week and a new list of tasks! I had a busy week last week but didn't even look at my list after I wrote it, so I have no idea if I met any of those goals... so let's find out!
1. Make a plan and write estimates for two new customer quilts.
Done! The customer liked the idea and the price, so I'm good to go this week. Here's a pic of what I have planned...
Last week flew by, didn't it? But I got lots and lots done and I'm finally starting to feel like things are beginning to get back to normal, just a little bit. Are you starting to feel that way too, or are things still out of whack for you?
Strange things happened last week - like my missing batting (ordered on May 9th!) finally turning up!
Well, here it is, Friday again - and, at least unofficially, summer has arrived! This has truly been the strangest year, hasn't it? And it's almost halfway over. But strange or not, it's Friday, and that means it's time to get our whoop whoop on! Are you ready? Then let's get started!
My week started off pretty normal - I had a t-shirt commission quilt to work on so I started bright and early Tuesday morning deconstructing shirts and making the blocks. By Wednesday afternoon, I had a rough layout set out....
I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! My husband (who has been working at home) decided to take four days, a long weekend, for the holiday and we have been doing some different things while he has been "off". And quite honestly, I lost track of my days. It just occurred to me that it is Monday, and a posting day - oops! It took a while to get used to our new "normal" but once I caught the rhythm, it was a little easier. Now I need to get back into the rhythm again after ... read more
Yes, it's Monday. Or Thatotherday, if you are using the COVID-19 calendar! And it's been quite a week around here. Let me share a little bit of what's been going on...
Happy May Day! Bet you thought April would n-e-v-e-r end, right? And it may stay April on my whiteboard calendar - because I managed to pick up a sharpie instead of a whiteboard marker when I filled in the dates last month! Oops..... Oh well, along with the first of May it's a Friday, and you know what that means - time for us to get our whoop whoop on! So let's get started!
There are lots of different styles of T-shirt quilts and they are all the rage today. You can get a t-shirt at any event, sometimes included with the price of admission. Keeping all those shirts can really take a lot of room in your storage spaces and for what? You might never wear them again. The following quilts from our longarm machine renters are some great examples of ways to layout and quilt a t-shirt quilt.
With Sashing
This is Linda’s T-shirt quilt and she chose to use sashing. You can see that the shirts were definitely from a ...
read moreIt's been a hand work sort of week. There are now 10 out of 30 of the Autumnal tulip blocks with flowers ready for leaves. The shape, size and color of which is totally up in the air. I'm loving the sweet look to these, but wondering why I settled on 30 as the perfect number to make? Might have to ratchet it down to 20 in order to ever properly finish up.
Starting to get an idea of what the Tulip blocks are gonna look like |
OMG - I woke up this morning and (after my coffee and a little while to get my eyes open) realized that IT IS FRIDAY AND I HAVEN'T WRITTEN MY BLOGPOST! So I get a big "whoops whoops" today, for sure! But because it's Friday, that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on - so let's get started!
One of the quilting world’s staple designs is the meander. Sometimes we don’t even think of the meander as a design. It is just a single line wiggling all over the quilt. The word meander actually comes from the name of a river in south western Turkey that has a lot of twists and turns. Now it just means to follow a winding course. However you define it, on a quilt it means a quilting texture that doesn’t add an additional design to the top. It is just nice and neutral. The following quilts are some of ...
